Ross Cantrell Bio
Ross Cantrell is a Saxophonist, Clarinetist and Composer, holding a 1st class degree in Music (BA).
​
Having played throughout his life, Ross has experience as a solo performer, and as a key member in both small and large ensembles. He has performed at prestigious venues such as Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, the Montreux Jazz Festival (2016), and the Concorde Jazz Club (Southampton).
​
Ross currently composes and produces his own music (see Discography), as well as live sessions with the function band Ruby (based in Southampton), solo saxophone gigs, and is Lead Alto Saxophone for the Salisbury Big Band. His newest venture is GEM, a soul-disco band.
​
Ross is a trained music teacher holding a PGCE in secondary education, and also has experience teaching privately for people of all ages. He is available for private lessons in the wider Southampton area.

Bands
Ross is Currently in 3 bands available for hire:
- Ruby, a 5 piece contemporary Soul band based in Southampton playing pubs, restaurants, events and Weddings

Debute Album of Jazz/Lofi pieces.

Writing Music
Ross writes and releases music in a range of styles, with his most recent work taking inspiration from the likes of Jon Regan, Jordan Rakei and Mammal Hands.


Teaching
Ross teaches Clarinet and Saxophone, for students of all ages (Classical and Jazz)

Ross plays solo sets of Swing, Jazz and Soul tunes, perfect for a wedding drinks reception or a sit down dinner event
